It’s constantly on I have to drive with my foot slightly under the brake pedal while I’m driving. And the brake lights are constantly on unless I’m lifting the brake pedal with my foot. It was worse and after the mechanic looking at it it is the drivers front wheel that the emergency brake is not completely releasing. I’m not a car person I’m in desperate need of some help. This is a manual All wheel drive and I’m also having problems with my gear shifter. It’s now not going into third gear And when I put it in fourth gear eventually it will pop into neutral can somebody please help me

Erin, first off, the emergency brake does not apply the front brakes. The E-brake (emergency brake) only engages the rear wheels. So, your problem is more to do with the brake booster than the e-brake lever. I think you may need to see if you can adjust the point where the lever of the brake booster meets the brake pedal lever. After that, not sure what to tell you. I would need to do some looking to see what I could find to help you out. Granted, have you looked into the spring on the brake lever. That may need to be tightened up a little bit to help pull the brake pedal up a little bit.
As for your gear shift lever issue, transmissions are my one weakness. I cannot help you there.
