Default 04 Inner Bulb Housing

Hello! I recently just bought an 04 X-type and it has a bulb burnt out. I have been reading a lot on this form in different headlight threads, but I got a little confused with the different names for different bulbs in different countries so I figured I would cut to the chase with an easy picture.

As you can see I have labeled all 4 bulbs. My issue is with bulb number 4. When I turn my lights on, bulb number 4 does not come on. I have taken off the circle twist of cap to expose the inner bulb housing.

Here is my issue: It seems the bulb receptacle just spins inside of the housing. I've pulled back on it but the whole housing moves and I didnt want to break anything, especially since im in WI and it's cold.

Is there a trick to getting the #4 bulb assy out of the housing? Thanks for your time

No problem ^^

Yeah, unfortunately there are some things that just require a scary "it's going to break!" use of force rather than some elegant solution, since it's cheapest to just make bendy plastic clips, after all.

Ebreak?

Yes sir. My ebreak has way to much play in the first few inches. It feels like it actually tightens to the breaks in the last few clicks, but does not hold the car in place on any sort of incline. (a must have with my drive way) From what I've read so far, I need to look under the back side of the car and see if part of the cable is point towards either rear, pointing me to a bad caliper, if im reading this correctly.

Oh, e-brake. Right, but break != brake

Well, that thread looks more knowledgeable than me.

I too had an issue with the hand brake though, it would only "catch" on the last few inches of brake lever movement. Turned out there was some misalignment in the brake caliper, which prevented the hand brake mechanism from disengaging completely, which in turn prevented the automatic cable adjust from working which then lead to the "loose" feeling in the handle. This was however diagnosed and fixed by a mechanic, not me, as I have the mechanical ability of a duck.
