in my 04 jag. x type? Ive found a nice LS engine with really low miles was wondering if the engine is the same.

 

I can't comment on the 3.0L but the 4.0 (3.9)L is close but not a simple change out. Lots of bolt on things have to be swapped.

If you have time on your hands I'm curious to know what would have to be swapped to make a 3.9L work with a 4.0.

AVOS is the forum's engine swap wizard. Here are a couple posts discussing the 4.2/4.0/3.9 engine swaps. With used 3.9 engines now appearing in wreaking yards for $1000 vs. $5000 for a 4.0/4.2 I am sure there is going to be a booming business in these swaps.

I have a X type not a S type allso the Lincoln engine is a 3.0L, wondering if it fits, answers kinda got off topic?
