The engine cutting out is "limp mode" limiting you to under 3000 RPM to prevent damage to the engine. P1000 is he code for monitor inspections incomplete it would change to P1100 when all inspections are completed.
Are there any other codes?
I don't know where the diagnosis came from but if it is correct the a place to star would be to change the IMT O-Rings. They are the seals for the 2 large round plastic valves at the right hand side of the manifold.
You might want to have the codes read again and then post just the numbers. The generic definitions don't always match the Jaguar definitions.

I agree with Avern. Is the problem there all the time or is it intermittent? If it is intermittent that would explain the P1000 code, but there should still be stored codes you can read. Do you have a check engine light on the dash? Could be a vacuum leak and as Avern said the IMT o-rings could be an issue. Another common problem to check is the brake booster check valve and the PCV hose. Could also be intake manifold gaskets, plugs or coils. Best is to get the codes read and post here or do a search on here and chances are you will find an answer on a good place to start looking
Or do you have any flashing lights when the condition is present? If so, don't drive the car as you could be doing damage to teh catalytic converter.
It would also help if you post the details of your car; year, engine size, etc. Helps in diagnosing things quicker.
