Jim, i am going to have to pay for part of it, about 50% as they cant tell when it actually happen, before i took the car or after. After its fixed and they ask for paymet im goin to call my insurance company about it and tell them that they should pay for it, and that they should have noticed it before as the it was noticed while getting an oil change done.

Aquill, i want to get the chrome moldings colour matched to the car, but the quote i got was $800, $500 to paint, and the $300 was just to take the parts off the car as the bumpers have to be removed, and some other crap. Although it would look good, i think $800 for it was a bit much.

I know 50% is better than 100%.........but, paying sweet FA is even better still. Fight for it! If you don't ask you'll never get!
Good luck.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease for sure!

Dang thats alot of money man...you ever thing about taking it all of yourself? Send me some pics and I'll try to photoshop your car in particular...give you a realistic picture in your mind what it'll look like...better the picture better the result let me know...
Never knew you liked the sport look? I love that night picture! You ever think about trying to do it yourself? You tape everything off I'd imagine it'd be easy! I used some spray paint on my monte carlo to help things out before it didn't look bad! Just gotta be patient!

You ever thought about checkin with salvage yards lookin for a Sport in your colour for the body coloured mouldings? It'd be a cheaper way of doing it for sure.

Why's that Aquill? Are all the drivers over there so good that no one crashes their X types or is it just Black X type Sports that don't crash?....lol

Both but the Jags are mmmmmm.....more rare than over there on the other side of the pond...I've been hard pressed to find anything at a junk yard for the x-types....or any jag for that matter...

Surely though, there are auto salvage yards that you can register with.........Name, address, conact number, car type etc etc and what parts you're lookin for?
In the event that sumthin comes in they then contact you

Aquill is right about finding any x-types in local salvage yards, they usually sell off the cars before they even get to the yards. the only jag that ive seen at a salvage yard was an XJ6, and most of the usable parts were gone. im not goin to try and paint it mysefl, cos ive seen it done on other cars and the paint chips easily, so if was to get it done, id have to get it done at a shop that can assure me that it wont chip. The chrome is too hard to make the paint stick, and i think you need to sand the parts down so the paint will stick. i cant risk doin that myself as it will cost a lot to replace if i mess it up. each bumper chrome molding costs about 90 bux

i got the prices from the dealer, looked on ebay and they are still quite expensive when available. Even if i get the parts for cheap, id still have to pay to get em painted and then installed. i wudnt wanna risk taking the bumpers off and then not be able to put them back on aligned properly.

yep.........just sounds like one of those things that you want, but don't neccesarily need, and are just gonna have to wait for it........If you end up doin it at all.
Lol............I've had a few thoughts like that, that never ended up gettin to the actually doing it stage!
lol
