Removal
1. Remove the crankshaft vibration damper.
2. Using the special tool (303-700), remove the crankshaft front oil seal.
Installation
1. CAUTION: Make sure the seal and the tool are approximately parallel to the front of the engine.
• NOTE: Lubricate the seal lip with oil WSE-M2C908-A or equivalent meeting Jaguar specification.
Using the special tool (303-542), install the crankshaft front oil seal.
2. Install the crankshaft vibration damper.
This is the procedure for the front seal. I assume this is the one your wanting to do? I have not done this myself, so I can't say what the difficulty is or what other tools could be used in place of the specialty ones. The difficult part in all this is getting to and removing the crankshaft vibration damper.
