2003 X type 3.0 ltr V6 smoking on startaup
2003 Xtype 3.0 ltr V6 120,000 klm smokes bad on start up sometimes intermittent any time in the day. but mostly of a morning I have oil in the intake hose at the back of the aircleaner going to the engine have cleaned that and new air filament but still doing it goes great on the road no smoke at all

+1 to a bad PCV valve. It's normal to find a thin film of engine oil inside the PCV hose and intake manifold. But a bad PCV valve can allow excess oil to escape the crankcase.
After replacing the PCV valve, the smoky exhaust may persist a little longer, until residual oil is sucked from the intake manifold, into the engine and burned.

thylacine, is the smoke white, black, or gray/blue? White smoke would imply a coolant leak. Black smoke would imply that your fuel system is dumping too much fuel into the system and it is getting blown out the tail pipe. If you are getting a gray/blue smoke, then that would be oil. IT is possible that your PCV valve is bad and would be a good first check/replacement as it is easy to do and cheap. After that, you are most likely looking at a bad valve guide. As for which one it is, that is where a compression test would tell you that.
