Exclamation 2003 x-type oil change

Hello EVERYONE!

I just did my oil change, but have a bit of a problem. I bought 5W30 Synthetic Oil for my 2003 X-Type and 10W30 Synthetic for my wife's car. Here's the Problem!!! I accidentally switch the two... I know... DUMB mistake, but I realized it too late. I put 10W30 in my 2003 Jaguar X-Type and 5W30 in her Nissan Altima. My car currently has 99125 miles on it and hers about the same. My question: is this something I should be concerned about or can I use the 10W30 to flush the system? Can anyone HELP ME with this...

My opinion: no worries. At operating temp they are both 30W. Unless the outside air temperature dips significantly, there will be no difference in that respect. Unless the synthetic formula is radically different, the engine won't know the difference. Correct it at next oil change.
best regards.
Bill

You're OK. My dealer's service writer told me they use the 10W30 year-round in our southern climate.

Acerek, with the miles on the car, may actually be a good thing. The slightly larger gaps in the engine will be sealed more easily by the thicker weight oil. Do not worry about it and if you are truely worried, change back to the other oil at the next oil change.
