I also have an 03 Xtype. All inquiries and attempts failed to get my cell phone to link with the built in system.

Not sure about an American version, but in the UK, I previously had a 2003 sport xtype from new. After a year, I had a phone handset fitted in the console by Jaguar. It required its own sim card, ie the car you have does not have blue tooth. I suggest you seek out a Jag dealer and see if hey can still fit them, or failing that, see if something can be done after market.

Just out of interest, at the same time I had front park assist fitted as the wiring loom supports this. My 2006 xtype estate (sovereign) does not have the support for this and so cannot be fitted. Seems they changed the wiring loom after 2003 (cheaper).

Regards
Rowland

You'd be better off buying an aftermarket stereo with Blue-tooth and replacing the stock stereo.

You're trying to retrofit current technology with mid-2000's technology, and it isn't going to be easy, or cheap to do....
