Default 2004 Jaguar X Type - Radiator Fans Issues

A while back I had an issue with my radiator fans not turning off after the car was off. After doing research, I figured it was my radiator module, so I replaced it. After replacing it, the fans now turn off when car is off, but when car is on the fans run at full speed the entire time.

I thought maybe it was a faulty radiator module, so I bought another one and it did the same (sent it back and got refunded).

After more research, I found that it could be either the coolant temp sensor or a fuse (f16 - 5amp) which I’ve replaced both and still the same issue.

It’s been this way for awhile, everything else works fine on the car so I didn’t care but I’m looking to sell the car soon and would like to fix it before I do. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I also seen some info about it possibly being a bad ecu, if that’s the only option than I’ll just sell it as is because that sounds expensive. Thanks in advance, any help would be really appreciated.

Did you buy an OEM fan control module (Gates FCM134) or one of the cheap Asian ones?

Not sure to be honest. I did see the warnings about not buying the cheap ones so I bought the one below. I did buy a cheap one for troubleshooting but it did the same so I sent it back. I’ll try searching for that one in particular and give it a try, thanks.

Notice the 4 pins on the Gates correct FCM. The others usually only have 3. Yours looks like 3 =

See the 4 pins on this offering as well in their pics

Just checked and the one I bought has three pins. Ordered the one with 4 pins though. Hopefully that fixes the issue. Thanks
