2004 X-Type 3.0 S (x400) RPM Surge & (!) red light issues
Hello, I have a 2004 X-Type 3.0 Sport (x400) that has been giving me troubles for many months. I've replaced the throttle body sensor, throttle body harness, oem throttle body and gas pedal assembly. It drove good for a few days after all was installed then the RPM Surge issue started back up. when this happens the red (!) Comes on the Dash and it needs to be restarted, sometimes up to 20 times to get the light off and have the ability to drive. It does this often when warming up to up to a dozen times in a 5 mile span. The last thing the mechanics did was unplug the oxygen sensor computer as the light is on for a bank 1 sensor 2 as they're was fray on the connector viewed thru a scope camera. This worked for a few days but the issue came back, this time just not as of a loud whining rpm surge but still surging and the red dash (!) Light. My mechanics think it might be a labor intensive wiring checking process or computer issue and advised me to stop throwing money into it. Any insight to a solution would be appreciated! -Thanks!!

I think that my shop who specializes in foreign vehicles would have compatible computers.. The computer readimgs for the gas pedal assembly and throttle body weren't in sync and even after replacing both of them they're not 100% synchronized. ..It seems fairly often that the abs and brake lights come on about when the red (!) Dash light does. My handbrake isn't fully disengaging to whereas the pin pops out, I read on a forum that the light may correlate to the e-brake? ..I just scheduled an appointment to try and repair this. Talking with the Jaguar dealer they also questioned if I had performed a vaccum leak test to which I have not. Any thoughts?! Thanks!

Anybody know if there is a certain procedure for syncing the throttle body or gas pedal assembly? I was recently told to turn the car to ON and press and hold the gas pedal for one second three times and start but it didn't seem to work. Also that procedure was for the guys S-Type not X-Type who told me to try that. Thanks!
