Default 2005/ 06 Jaguar X-type Sport Build Numbers?

Hi All,

Would anyone have data to how many X-type sports were built for the 2005/06 model years? Especially imported to the US market.

Thanks.

Default X-Type Sport

I presume you are solely interested in the petrol X-Types as I doubt the USA market saw the diesel. This leaves the 2.5L AWD as both the 2.1L FWD Sport and 3.0L AWD Sport were not built after 2004 . . . however, the latter was replaced by the 3.0L AWD Sport Premium. Of the total 99,939 2.5L and 91,595 3.0L X-Types produced from 2001 to 2008 inclusive, I have no way of knowing what proportion were either 2.5L Sport or 3.0L Sport Premium, nor how many were built just in 2005 and 2006, nor of these, how many were built as LHD and exported to NA markets.

My source for the total numbers and year builds is Jaguar : All The Cars by Nigel Thorley.

My guess, based on the 7% figure for my equivalent Sport variant of the XJ8 in the same era, is relatively few!

Hope this is of some help,
Cheers

Would like to add another x-type to the stable in the near future. I am sure I am looking for a needle in the haystack. 2005 sport package (USA Spec - 3L) with a manual transmission.

Quite interested in this! I just purchased an X-Type Sport... After 11 years of looking for one in the U.S., I finally found and bought it!! Alcantera, Carbon fiber, steel grey paint... impossible to find double 5 spoke wheels (UK has a lot, but need to find a way to get ONE) I joined JF only to ask the question you posted- how many inthe U.S>????

Lightbulb calculations... a starting point perhaps...

I have a 2005 X-Type Sport.... so...

If taking the stats regarding the number of cars in the USA (• Number of cars in U.S. | Statista ) 247,421,120

Plus the totals of X-types sold... multiplied by the 7% estimate made by member Cat_as_trophe....

I get an estimated 765 X-Type Sport built in 2005...which is 0.000003% of all cars in the USA (in 2005)

with an estimated 102,038 roaming the USA in 2005....which is 0.0004% of ALL cars in the USA (in 2005)

VERY RARE!

I have the 3.0 Sport Premium with manual transmission and love it despite it having over 150,000 miles when I bought it. I occasionally see others offered for sale. Rare, but not impossible to find. Looking for an S-Type with manual transmission; now that's really hard to find!
