2005 No Start .
I ve been having problems with my car for over 7 months now. Lately the car seems to want to die when given gas, specially when under 1/2 tank and was having problems starting when under 1/4 tank. I replaced the fuel pump and my problems seemed to go away for 2 days and then returned. Today the car won’t start at all. I can’t even hear the fuel pump priming any more, so I am thinking either my new fuel pump was just bad or I have another problem.
any help or suggestions appreciated, I have been trying to solve this for while now and it’s starting to drive me completely crazy

Any diagnostic readings on the fuel rail pressure?
If the pump is not being called into action (assuming pump and drive module are good, F17 fuse and R6 ignition relay are fine), then the fuel rail is either at serviceable pressure already, or the fuel pressure sensor is falsely telling the ECM it is.
The only other 'way out there' possibility is you have built up an unlikely heavy vacuum in the tank that the fuel pump is fighting against......try briefly releasing your fuel cap to see if that allows the pump to operate properly.

+1 for what the other Mark suggests, get an OBDII code reader and watch the fuel pressure in the fuel rail. You should see pressure around 50-55 psi pretty steady if the engine were running, but since it is not running you should see the pressure at ~50 psi slowly bleeding off.
Changing the fuel pump maybe stirred up some gunk and clogged the fine filter over the pump inlet and the pump ran dry because it couldn't pull in the fuel. If the pump runs dry it gets unhappy so could have pulled some current and tripped a fuse? Far fetched, but trying to think of what you can check without getting into the tank again.

Intermittently or failing fuel pressure switch?
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...cememt-172503/
What happens when fuel pressure sensor goes bad?
This can lead to symptoms like weak acceleration, difficulty starting the car, stalling, and poor fuel economy.
Good explanation, kinda sounds just like what you said was happening =

Update on this, I replaced the fuel pump and the car starts and drives now.
but I am not convinced the problem is over. I am inclined to think something is killing the pumps.
what could be causing this? Right after changing the pump I had a check engine light , but that went away after about 15 minutes of driving, so no codes.
