Cold temps in Ohio seemed to make my upper IMT **** air and followed with a CEL. Anyone know of an alternate part I can get locally for a quick replacement?

Seen threads suggesting Lincoln LS for a 2002 model X-Type, same part for 2005? I'd really like to only buy the one part as I will soon be replacing the battery.

Gas mileage has dropped, and I can feel the air escaping. Pretty confident this is the culprit. Has to be a similar Ford Contour part, right? Maybe someone can chime in with the correct diameter and thickness?

 

usaftbird, a trick that you can use to get you by for a little bit is to apply a little bit of RTV to the IMT valve (between the o-ring and the outside edge of the IMT valve) and then tighten things down from there. That should seal things up for the moment so you can get the part ordered. Check out "Jaguar Parts" - Jaguar parts and accessories catalog. They are pretty much right in your back yard and should be able to get you the parts in a matter of 2 days to your house. They are up in Cleveland. I am sure if you don't mind spending a little bit of money, they would even overnight you the o-rings. Your call.
