Exclamation ABS C1155 Fault code won't clear after extensive testing and new parts - Help!!

X type 2006 2.0D

Bit of History - I have had an issue for a few months with the ABS occasionally kicking it at low speed for no reason, which then put the ABS light on. This would clear after a restart.
I changed both rear hubs (with new ABS sensors included) as the bearings were getting old anyway. At the same time cleaned up the front, new discs/pads and removed and reseated sensors.
ABS light stayed on, became permanent.

Bought a Mongoose clone cable (JLR SDD 130) to read the faults, at this point I had C1145, C1155, C1232, C1233.

Replaced both front ABS sensors with new.

Now only showing C1155.
Ran through all JLR tests, checked wiring for shorts, resistance etc.

Swapped link leads from one side to the other - still C1155 code.

Thinking it could be a module fault, I changed the ABS moodule (ECU part only).

Still C1155 code.

This weekend ran a new wire straight from the ABS module to the sensor with soldered joints so no chance of any probelms.

Still C1155 Code.

I have tried clearing the code with JLR SDD, but it will not clear.

To add to the confusion, I ran live diagnostics on all 4 ABS sensors with SDD, and all sensors appear to be working perfectly. Spped signals rise and fall at the same rate and to the same levels.

Does anyone have any ideas what else I could look at? Could it be worth changing the solenoid block, even though there are no codes relating to this?

Did you (or shop) remove the left front bearing at any time?

I had the same problem. I was just like average and changed different parts to see if it would clear. My last resort was to change the cable from the sensor to the nearest connector. As soon as I pulled the plastic (to access the nearest connection), The answer was there! There was obvious wire damage to both the sidelight and the speed sensor cable connector. I had to cut the wires and put new ones in place. I reconnected the battery, cleared the codes, and no ABS/engine light. I think it's fixed.

lannyb, did the problems start shortly after redoing the wheel bearings? I only ask because there is an inside and outside of the bearings. They will fit in and work just fine backwards. The issue comes, there is a reluctance ring built into the bearing that if it is put in backwards, the reluctance ring does not match up to the sensor and therefore gives a zero speed signal. I take it your speedo is "stuck" at 0 MPH.

no sir, i only changed the speed sensors, although the bolt was stripped so i had to drive to my buddys with it unhooked for a couple miles and my speedo meter was stuck at zero but after getting the bolt out and getting the new guy in all worked an drove fine. just cannot get the codes to go away have driven over 200 miles at least to try and get it to go away.
