AC components replaced still hot
#21
Looking at this on my phone, so forgive me if I missed something.
I just replaced the DCCV (dual climate control valve) on my S-Type 3.0, have you looked into this? As it turns out, my a/c system was functioning fine, but the cold air couldn't beat out the hot air that was constantly circulating through the heater cores. Replaced my DCCV and presto, fully functional climate control. On a side note, the a/c compressor is supposed to run constantly to my knowledge. Maybe the x-type system is different, so take this as just my 2 cents.

Ok weird! My wife was driving home today in 105F temps here in Tx. She said that her AC is blowing cold now, she said that its blowing so cold that she had to put it at 70F cause it was getting chilly? What the HELL! Anyone explain this? She also states that her battery light came on. Help I don't trust it.

Bowyota and someone else that is following this post. I had this problem just this over the winter. I had heat (a/c) the previous day and then not heat (a/c) the next day. I thought the blend door quit working. I pulled apart the glove box side and noticed there was heat (a/c) in the HVAC. So I searched the forums and read an earlier post where you disconnect the battery for 2 minutes for a computer hard reset.
This solved my issue. The idea is the electronic control for the blend door has "lost" its zero location and needs to be reset.
The post also stated "prior to starting the engine, turn the key to "on" and then pull up on each window control until you hear the click at each door."

Within this forum link, someone stated that a weak battery could be causing the
intermittent issue.
Something to try.

to do a proper reboot...You should disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes or touch the battery cables together for a few seconds..while off of the battery of course..
Radio will need the un-lock code and the windows will go through a reprogramming phase.
I also think you may have a bad connection somewhere..check the connection to the compressor clutch

Well I now have so far replaced the climate control unit, all the stepper motors, checked the fuses and done a "re-boot". I manually moved the blend door to cold, soI can use the car here in FL, and set the air to come from the dash, but still no motor movement, is there a common power supply to these motors, I could check? I would like to get the car up North eventually, but will need to be able to control the temp without taking the dash apart. Help!!?

Youve spent all this time and money, have you thought of getting it diagnosed properly. Its had to diag on the web and like i said before, if you have a $30 evap temp sensor out and its telling the ac ecu that the evap core is freezing, youre not going to get ac may or may not be it, but if its hooked up to read the output and it says the evap core temp is 5* and not 35*. You get no ac as long as its doing that. And then theres is always the proper wiring of the compressor depending on what one you got. We have to check and verify polarity of the new compressors and switch the pins in the connectors if differant. Theres a bulletin on this as well as a note in the package that many dont read because "i dont need no stinkin directions, i know how to put in a compressor"
