AC Fan stopped working

AC Fan stopped working
Have a 2002 X-type, ac was working and rounded a corner and water ran onto the passenger floor. Happened once before, drain tube clogged, blew it out. Now the fan will not come on, for the defroster, or the AC, not even when I take it off auto, so no air also. Checked all the fuses, all ok, was going to see if needed freon, but when I connected it shot up to the red, past the green. so at a standstill. Any ideas??

Daves, first, swap fuses F6 and F4. Does the fan run now and/or do you not have the ability to turn on the rear defroster? If yes to the fan or no to the defroster, then the fuse that is currently in the F4 spot is bad. Replace. Also check fuse F80 in the fuse box under the dash. If your J-gate (ie, shifter) is functioning properly, then this fuse is good.
After the fuse checks, it may be possible that the water caused the blower to fail internally. I would say to first start with letting the car sit outside in the sun and let the interior get nice and toasty. This will dry out the blower motor. See if that happens to bring it back. If not, then most likely you are looking at needing a new blower motor. This is a fairly easy thing to get installed and a local shop can install it for you in under an hour and a blower motor will cost you about $35 (used one off of e-bay, delivered to your house). The hardest part of installing this motor is that you have to get into the passenger footwell area and it just isn't an easy spot to get to. But, the blower has a single 2 wire plug to it and 3 bolts holding it in place. Then it practically falls out of the car.
Before you go replacing the blower motor, one last check. In the fuse box under the dash, swap relays R19 and R20. Does this bring back the blower motor? If yes, then the relay that is currently in the R19 spot (this is for the rear defroster, so, immediately replacing it is not a concern) is bad and you can go to your local auto parts store and get a 30 amp relay to put in that spot. it is a generic relay and as long as it has the same general dimensions, you are golden. Of note, if you look at the relay in the R19 spot, it should have 5 metal tabs sticking out the bottom of the relay. When you buy your new relay, make sure that has the same number of tabs as what you took out. This will make sure that you don't introduce another issue.

One other check is do your interior lights work, footwell, etc. I was messing around with trying to put LED in my visor yesterday and they were too fat. As you put the cover back in, it has a small "heat shield" strip over the bulb length. It touched both ends of the festoon bulb and blew the fuse. No interior lights, no climate control. It is fuse 49 on newer X's in footwell fuse box. Replaced and all is well.
As an addition, I've looked for 36 mm length by 6.5 mm diameter LED festoon bulbs and no luck thus far.

tried all you suggested, this morning, also we have had over 100 degrees for last couple days, so well dryed out, Everything works as should, but no fan, rear defroster works, but front has no fan. after swapping fuses around, maybe need to replace, could be the plugged drain, and the water spilling over onto the floor, shot the blower, only have 170,243 miles on it....maybe its time.

Daves, from the sounds of things, it sounds like your blower motor took it in the shorts. If you have a multimeter, I can tell you how to figure out if the motor is truely bad. Quick check. Just a pain to get to the pins to make the check. Are you familiar with how to use a multimeter? Only asking so I know how detailed I need to be should you choose this path.

New one on me.
well I ordered a new blower motor, for my 2002 jag x type
and today driving with the Windows down to get a breeze, the blower turned on and started blowing cold air, so I shut my Windows. Still going to replace it, but is that a common occurrence?

daves, it sounds like the brushes inside the blower motor got really wet and they took a lot longer to dry out than I would have thought. Honestly, if it is blowing lots of air on high speed, I would keep that new blower motor in hot stand-by just in case. No sense in trying to kill yourself in replacing something that is now working just fine.
