Accident Update - Got the Hood Open
Well after further accessing my damage today, I think I'll need a front bumper and a hood I finally got the hood to open, however, there's play in the latch on the passenger side and the hood looks bent.
Front bumper has a small crack near the a/c condenser, but I'm not sure whether I need to buy it or not.
So here's what I'll probably need: Hood, Latch, Bumper(maybe not), and the hood release cable.
Deductible is 1000, so I'm not sure whether I want to bother with my insurance company or not.

The hood is $650 from a dealer about 100 miles away. Cheapest I've found it so far. I'm going to pick it up next ween and get have it painted. I may actually get the entire car painted now to prevent the body shop from having to match paint.
Well, we'll see what happens.

Bucks right you know Spartan..........they blend in soo well these days as to be as good as new. I had the bumper replaced on the A6 recently as you know due to accident damage and you'd never know
A full respray unless the car is in extremely bad shape which I doubt we be totally unneccessary

I have as high a deductable as the insurance will let me, I think it is 1700 on the Jag. It is more expensive in the long run to have low deductables. Remember insurance companies make huge proffits, they do not lose money. Save your insurance for the big one.... when you write off a car with a loan against it.
I dont know about body shops being able to match colours well. My silver X had the hood done twice and it is still no good. I suppose it depends on your eye.. most dont notice the slight differences.

Well It's been a while since I've posted. Terribly busy these days...
I got the car fixed, and for a song too! Guys on craigslist fixed my hood, my bumper and got all my dints and dings out for $300. Much better than a 1000 deductible, or a 1000 bumper and a 600 hood + paint.
They also re-cleared my lights, as they were starting to get a little dull at the top. Anyway, it's good to have the Jag back to its old self. Now I just need to get it aligned...
