I had my ACM dealer installed about 4 years ago, and I need some advice here. In a nutshell:

1. My radio/CD has stopped seeing my ipod. This has happened before. A quick fix for me, was to remove the ashtray and gearshift cover. Jiggle the power cord to the radio unit...reboot the thing and it would come back. No luck on that lately.

2. About a year ago, my ipod stopped charging, while hooked up in the car. That wasn't a huge problem, as I would take it in the house at night, and charge there. Not sure if these two things are related.

When I've had every popped out to jiggle the unit power cord, I've seen the ACM, but I don't remember if that's where the Apple cord in plugged in or not. I've had several Apple cords go bad,over the years, and replaced them.

I'm sure if that's what going on here, because if I hook up my via RCA cords, it still won't see it. Everything else is working fine..radio/cd player...all good.

Is there a way to replace the cord? Is there a way to reboot the ACM?

The closest Jag dealer is 5 hours away and if I could do this myself, I'd prefer too.

There's a reset on the ACM and a pic posted recently in the S-Type forum I recall - probably by tbird6 or clubairth1. The lack of charging may be a blown fuse - handbook shows which is which.

 

I saw that...and of course, there isn't one on mine. Maybe the X version was different. Of course, when I got in the car today, the ipod started right up, like nothing ever happened.

It's going to happen again. I hoping I don't have to replace the ACM.
