Air intake hose clamp removal
I have a 2002 X-Type 2.5 Sport and am getting DSC System Fault, Gearbox Fault, Check Engine light (amber) and ABS lights. After reading several posts in this forum, it seems that a new throttle body may solve my problem. My problem is I can't figure out how the hose clamps on the air intake hose work. How do I loosen the clamps and remove the hose?

Needle nose pliers. Squeeze the ends together a little and pry up on the top "half". It should pop free. Same to put it back on. Squeeze the ends together and fiddle with it until the little tab goes into the slot.
There is probably a special Jaguar tool # $%!@&*! you can get for $456.78 that is made just for that job!

Another thing about this clamp is that it is radially clocked. As in, you want to replace it with the latch exactly where it was when you took it off, assuming it was on correct, don't rotate the clamp and then re-attach it. There are reliefs in the hose and tabs on the clamp for proper positioning. If you look closely at the tube with the clamp removed you will see the impressions on the rubber made by the clamp, you don't want to spin the clamp to a different position and tighten.
When this clamp/hose assy leak, (take in air that has not gone thru the MAF first) you can have idle issues among other trouble. Good Luck!
