Default air shock vs bladder?

Morning one and all.
We got in my wifes' 04 Vanden Plas to go to the Circuit of the Americas Formula 1 race, got a vehicle too low dash warning (gave it enough time and the front end rose up). Took it to a Jag mechanic and he told me I had a leaking air bladder (passenger right side). I've not had enought time to get to know her car yet. Is this the same as, or part of an Air Shock absorber? And is there anything tricky about replacing it. I'm comfortably handy under the hood.
Thanks for you help.

To help you, I would recommend posting this exact thread in the xj8 section. The xtype doesn't have air suspension and is the compact version of the xj8.

Maybe a moderator could move it for you?

The air bladder is sealed within the "Air Shock" assy. You have to purchase a new or rebuilt unit. They seem to go bad during the winter months.

Checkout the X350 section under "Jaguar Models", there is a few informative posts on the suspension.
