alignment specs...any customized numbers or just go by the book?
This may seem like a question out of left field, but my primary 'fun' car for several years has been the Miata, and alignments were often done by those on THE go-to Miata board to a custom setting (while the driver's seat was ballasted as well). The specs were not exactly what one would have found in the shop manuals but made the car a lot more fun And while I got the X-Type to absorb some of my daily-driver miles instead of putting them all on the XK8, I'd still like to have some fun from time to time...
Are there any non-standard specs on the X-Type that some of y'all are using or is the book basically to try and split the book numbers?
I've got new tires and shocks that will be done in the near future, followed by a four-wheel alignment in a shop that will do custom numbers as well as what the machine ordinarily recommended.

mbelanger, there are no "race spec" numbers out there for trying to get a bit more cornering or whatnot out of the car. Besides, the suspension for our cars is not set up to be adjusted like you would need for "enhanced driving". To do so would require modification to the car (ie, adjustable upper rear control arm from Volvo S40 and then so some of adjustable device for the front to adjust the camber there, but no one has done this that I am aware other than one person who elongated the holes for the upper mount for the struts).
One thing that I will mention is that Jaguar came out with slightly different spec for the alignment in like 2004. So, you may want to make sure you get the newer numbers that are listed in the TSB.
