Can someone give me advice I bought a decent spark plug tester .. but for the life of me I cant screw it in any spark plug holes, I matched the spark plug and the adapters. Even thread pitch.. and it still wont screw in heres a pic of adapters specs. What size is suppose to work ?
Not sure I keep trying but with no luck

Thank you so much I have a 14mm but it's short.
I just found out I need a 14mm long adapter. Just ordered it from amazon should be here in a couple days.

Looking forward to putting the top half of the engine together .
I will keep posting on my progress .
THERMO and DELL and everyone else that's been so knowledgeable. Thank you

Hate to bring it up again, but it doesn't seem like you have actually replaced the MAF sensor. Testing it with an ohmeter and even cleaning it doesn't ensure it will work right with the ECM. I watched my fuel trims drift out of spec with a Gap IID tool until the codes came up, getting a good MAF fixed it for good.

Valves =

Pistons you have to tear the engine down =

Chris Fixx has a video where he compared ALL the major brands that say they do it in situ (i.e. Seaform, etc.). The results with video on his bore scope was not one of them really did much of anything despite their marketing.

I ordered a new MAF. And a new fuel pressure solenoid
There was a crack in the solenoid I found after inspecting very closely.. but no fuel was leaking.
It's the solenoid that sits as the end of the fuel rail.

My parts will be here in a day or so and I will reassemble.

I also followed the video on how to clean and rebuild the Throttle body. That's finished.

HERES WHERE IM AT:
New Imt rings, also Ohm imt tested.
New upper and lower manifold gaskets.
New ribbed Pcv hose. Cleaned PVC valve.
New brake booster.
Checked and clean up wiring harness. No bad wiring.
Tested O2 Sensor's all 4 showed between 1.2 and 6 ohms. I will Volt test them once everything put back together.
Checked and cleaned coils Ohm readings from right to left. 4 pins using forth pin as my main.
45.5 ohms on all coils, second pin showed 44.3 ohms on all coils. Third pin showed 28-30 ohms on all coils.
I will volt test them once engine out back together.
Tested and cleaned Fuel Injectors. Rebuilt them. But they are spraying perfectly.
I cleaned the MAP sensor just becuase, correctly.
Waiting on 14 mm compression test Adapter . Then I will test compression.

I did noticed my valves look black but not gummed up. Might spary valve cleaner in the intake holes while I have the intake off, take a wire brush to clean them.
This is there I'm at.
What started all this was Air leak codes, then I decided to also put in spark plugs in. Once I fixed it. Drove for a day. Air leak codes came back. Then the next day cylinder misfire 1 and 2 came up, also that Cadillac
converter damage code. So I have been working on it since, My jag has 23k miles on it.. I only really drive it when it snows. It. Shouldn't be having these problems.

Update: parts came in today. New MAF. By the way I ohm tested the new MAF. Waiting on compression adapter to check cylinders.
Anyone got 2 cents worth on these MAFs. haha.
Can someone match these with your MAF maybe tell me if any of this seems accurate. Thanks.

Did the new MAF change anything? Did the codes come back just as before?

Ok my parts came in ready to reassemble today.
Did a compression test. No wet test. But

1 145 / 2 135 / 3 140 / 4. 135 / 5. 150 / 6 150
No spark plugs in.

Seems alright all with in 20 psi. But I used a cheap tester and cranked 8 times each cylinder.. also noticed when I used Anti-seize on the adapter it seem to increase compression due to a tighter seal.

I will be putting the top have of the car back together and resetting codes and going from there. I will report back on my findings.

Default UPDATE on xtype issues.

I reassembled the top half of the engine.
New coils, new spark plugs gapped to 50, new upper and lower intake gaskets.. new brake booster, new coolant. New Maf, new Speed density, cleaned Throttle body, cleaned all connections, checked all wiring for cracks or shorts..
Ohm tested everything, tomorrow I will volt test everything.
The car doesnt show any problems till about 150mile.
So far no codes.. only drove it 3 miles.
I will spend time on the road with it tomorrow and check live data and try to put 150 miles on it.
It started up clean no issues ... no misfires detected yet.
I have put allot back into it. We shall see..
Jayson

I will update this tomorrow. Want to say thanks to everyone that's helped. I love my jag I'm a collector and this is my favorite style.
Thanks again.

Update...
I have put 35 miles on the car today ...
I watched my live data and noticed my fuel trims are not in the plus % anymore and I'm seeing 0.0% to -negitive 6.5 to as high as plus 5 % but its changing constantly based on my driving conditions.. I dont have any check engine lights and no long term fuel trim data yet.
I will be driving 100 miles tomorrow and then I will find out if the check engine light comes back on..
So far so good.
Thanks for everyone's help..
Gasket maker is your friend ... I sealed up everything on the intake ... nice and tight.
Also new plugs and coils and maf helped. Couldn't pin point it only because everything we displaying correct voltages.
Might be a intermittent problem ..
I'll update one more time tomorrow before I kill this thread.
Thanks
Jayson

Update. On codes and issues..
It seems replacing all the coils and new maf, map, and rebuilt Injectors and new fuel pressure regulator, upper and lower intake gaskets and brake booster helped.
I think my fuel trims shouldn't be as high as they are but no check engine lights within thresholds.

anyway I'm going to kill this thread unless anyone has something to add..
That's pulled from live data during all kinds of driving conditions..
No more codes, vaccume leaks fixed for now.
Jayson

Glad you were able to get it squared away finally. Seeing as those were the only two codes you were getting and have a feeling it was the manifold gaskets, but know knows. You threw the kitchen sink at it. Hope you have many trouble free miles ahead now.
