Another X type into the fold - mates X type 2.0d estate
Well, one of my very good friends has been looking at my XJ and Connors / Peters X type's enviously for a little while now, and wants to dive into Jaguar ownership and asked for help.
He's on a limited budget and wanted something fairly clean, reliable and ost effective, so the hunt was on.
Found a decent X type 2007 2.0d estate 80k miles in Newcastle area with plenty of toys, good service history long m.o.t and ready good to go.
Absolutely everything works as it should!
He's not overly picky about wheels, colours etc etc but budget was limited
The car was valued at around £3650, although the guy was asking £3350, we managed to get him down to £3000 dead
She runs great and pulls like a champ in all gears, although in good shape probably a little grubby for my liking, but nothing that a few hours with some famous elbow grease won't sort out.
Engine oil / filter will be done shortly, air filter/ fuel filter and pollen filter shortly too. New car mats ordered along with some new centre caps.
He's bringing her over in a week or two for a full wash, clay barring session, wash n dry, engine bay detailed and more.
We plan to thoroughly go over the interior, door cards, seats and carpets, the wheels will be removed and hubs / calipers painted, wheels thoroughly cleaned inside n out, wheel wells cleaned and blackened along with tyres and anything else that needs attention.
Love to be able to turn something like this around and I know he's keen to see the difference too, should be good.

Cleaned, detailed, sorted for now
Well took Davy's X type today and got the engine oil changed, also air filter, pollen filter and fuel filter done too.
She was washed, clay barred, washed then dried and generally cleaned to within an inch of her life.
Wheels taken off and cleaned inside n out, hubs painted stock silver, calipers painted black, new Jaguar centre caps and tyre valves fitted, tyres blacked and looking good. The wheel wells were cleaned and blackened too adding to the finished look.
The under bonnet and engine bay were thoroughly cleaned, blacked up and the engine cover JAGUAR painted red....nice touch.
Windows cleaned inside n out, door rubbers treated and door cards thoroughly cleaned. The leather was cleaned with Autoglym leather cleaner then Autoglym leather conditioner added, carpets cleaned and vacuumed then new floor mats added
Door locks, hinges etc all greased, came up well.
There's so much more I'm probably missing but you get the idea.....
Here's some before's..........
Afters.......
27 man hours total made a nice little difference to this Jag
