Any advice on a first X-Type

Honestly, KBB and other such sources are just benchmarks. The value in the end is what 'you' as a customer feel a product is worth. KBB can never adequately price an immaculate car with extremely low mileage - since there aren't enough of those that enter the market to be generally priced. Of course it will impact what you can sell it for in the after market.

Congratulations! Hope you have many trouble free miles on her! Whatever you ended up paying is irrelevant as long as you feel good about it. Enjoy! I can sense your excitement. Seems similar to mine when I first picked up my car. That was over four years and 80K miles ago and I still feel the same way.

I picked my 2002 2.5 from a Dealer in Merritt Island, FL. He got it from an auction! He was asking 7k. After a pretty extensive test drive I showed him 5k cash and drove it away. All the big expensive bits have been fine. Some niggly things. Trim cracked (the interior plastic hates hot weather). My ABS light is still on, tires, brakes, I installed a used ACM kit to play my iPhone. But the car drives nice. Has only 70k miles, and looks like a much more expensive luxury car. Its black on black which is a cool color combination. I've had it about six months. Recently noticed a leaky oil pan. I'm paying $700 tomorrow to get that fixed.
My only advise..? Find an independent Jaguar specialist. I use 'All Jaguar' in Longwood Fl. You'll save hundred's of $$.
