Anyone changed rear brakes on 04 x type?
Could I call you if so? Please PM me your number if you dont mind.
I am so stuck on this... working on the driver rear side. Using the square tool and turning counter clockwise with no luck. It is not moving and I have spun the ******* off and on for 2 hours

Still no luck with this...
The piston will not screw in at all. I have read that the caliper needs to be replaced if this happens?
I disconnected the Ebrake, loosened the valve to let brake fluid out, and turned the piston counter clockwise (driver side) for a while.
I'm gonna order a manual for the car so I guess it'll sit on jacks until then.

you have to push in real hard while you are turning it..I had to remount my caliper after getting the rotor off and out of the way...then while pushing inI turned real slow with the bleed nipple open too (Attach a hose to it)...you might have to give it a squeeze with a C-clamp first to get it going, then push and turn.
Or you can go to Auto Zone and rent the tools..

Unless the 04 changed from the 02 I didnt use any type of square tool.
The tool we have has two dowels and it goes into the slots on the piston.
Once those are aligned you can turn the piston back into the caliper.
I did not loosen the bleed valve or anything. There is an alignment notch
also so the pad will drop back in easy to when setting the piston back
into the caliper.

I had a similar problem when changing my brake. Well actually when my mechanic was changing the brake. BUT from my recollection one of the rear brakes actually has to turn the opposite direction from the other brakes. I am assuming counter clock wise. WHy I don't know but it worked.

There is two sets of tools you need..like everyone is saying..you need a left-hand thread for theleft side caliper and a right-hand thread for theright side caliper....I know that Auto Zone here in my town will rent you both tool sets..perhaps you need to ask if you can get both types at your AZ....or call around to different auto parts stores..Like PepBoys or Advanced, or O'Rielly, NAPA, etc.
