Default Anyone know what could be the problem with downshifting

My friends jag occassionally experiences a slight delay when downshifting, typically only when called upon to execute a "kickdown shift" of two or more gears. It will otherwise downshift and up shift properly. Could it be the control module or is the tranny going bad? Its a 2002 3.0L.

Have you put it in sport mode and tried? TRanny won't be causing it, and someone here who is far smarter might correct me but it's controlled electronically not with linkage so maybe the TCM? Have you put it in the J-Gate and tried to up and downshift manually to see if there is still a lag?
