auto box or electrical or?
Hi all.
Had my x type 2.0 v6 just over a month and loving it ( 99% of the time ). Thought initially every now and then it had a missfire but having lived with it for a bit I would say it was being hesitant to change down making it feel like a miss fire, it happens I would say when the engine is labouring slightly, is around 30-40 mph on the flat or climbing a hill. Put your foot down and it drops one sometimes two gears and its off. (Sport button off) Its not showing any fault codes other than p1111 which I'm led to believe is normal and other than this I can't fault it. Its still under warranty but I'm reluctant to ring them just yet mainly because
A, I'd like to get an understanding of what might be going on and if its relatively straight forward I'll do it.
B, I don't want a garage the warranty company send me to poking around because they're cheap.
I've no doubt the cars been looked after, its a 2004 with 45000 miles. It has full jaguar history so I wouldn't have thought it had ever wanted for anything. One other thing, I live in Southampton, chants. Can anyone recommend a reputable garage locally that specializes in jags? Want to keep the book stamped and service is nearly due. Thanks for any info I get but may not be able to reply till the weekend ( work away from home )

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to advise about the misfire.
Code P1111 is a status code and not an error. It means all OnBoard Monitoring Tests Completed. You will always see either this or code P1000 (OnBoard Monitoring Tests not completed since last memory clear).
If you are looking for an independent garage in the Southampton area, best to ask for recommendations in the UK & Eire Region forum.

H A Fox spring to mind, though since purchasing both my Jaguars from them I've only ever used them as a source of genuine Jaguar spares so can't comment on the quality of their maintenance, other than during the warranty period when they were good but pricey!
Does using the Sport button have any noticeable effect on your problem?
