Automatic gear knobs.

How do you change a gear knob?http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/icons/icon6.gi
Thanks to the people who replied to my question 'Where can I get a wooden gear knob for my automatic 2009 X Type, and I took the advice and bought one from E- Bay and it arrived today. It looks like a light-coloured Walnut Whip (but anything is better than the black chrome one) but I don't know how to put it on (or even get the current one off, for that matter).
I did manage to pull down the 'sleeve' and look for a hole for the allen key, but couldn't find it. I put it in neutral, reverse and 'park' and tugged and tugged and then tried to twist it off, but nothing!
Can anyone help?
Many thanks,
Robert.

Well, this isn't burr Jaguar Wooden Gear Knob
Also these should fit British Autowood > Gearknobs
Someone with EPC can prolly dig you the part numbers for the OEM walnut knobs, I'm not at my EPC-PC now.

I picked up a nice little 'universal fit' one with a Growler on it thru the Little British Car Co (LBCarCo) ordering it online. It's mahogany, I believe, but the stain is a very close match to my walnut dash colour.

Also, EPC lists JLM2083 which is this Wooden Gear Knob - Walnut - JLM2083 - Genuine Jaguar at www.rimmerbros.co.uk
Looks pretty good. Too bad the only option for the manual knob is the aluminium Arden thingy...
