Just had some good fun at a school parking lot a few hours ago and man was it fun. Had a blast testing and rather showing all what the car is like with traction on and off! Almost took out the front bumper with a pole but stopped with less than a couple of inches away...actually have video of it! Need a real snow here in michigan though to do some donuts and not the drifting donuts~!

n_f_e,
I sell Asphalt plant spares, and cutting edge, tips etc for Caterpillars, Volvo's, JCB's etc.
I used to work for an OEM selling the actual plants themselves as well as spares and large retrofit component parts.
So essentially........unlike most of us, road works, for me anyway, are a good thing, cos it usually means business somewhere along the line.

Hey racer,
it's like anythin else I guess......Its got its highs and its got its lows, good days n bad days same as everyone else.
Tell you what is interesting though. Finding out about the different grades of asphalt and what properties they have, like the SMA products that they use, and the specific asphalt that they use to lay on problems bends where there is a history of bad accidents.
The grip on this stuff is absolutely amazing.
There is a bend on a stretch of motorway out of Glasgow with a 50mph limit on it ( quite a sharpish bend) and it has this SMA on it.
I took that bend at just under 110mph in my Mondeo and it just stuck like glue................DOES NOT DO YOUR TYRES ANY GOOD AT ALL!
