No, it is not a common problem, at least not one I have noticed as a complaint in this forum or others. Your rear springs are most likely tired, perhaps the shocks too. My 2002 still sits up high in the rear. I'd actually prefer it to be a little lower.
So, you could fix the problem with new parts, or you could buy some coil spring spacers (referred to as spring rubbers in NASCAR-speak), and wedge them in the rear coils for a little boost. I'd use the rubber versions rather than the metal ones.
