Bad News . . . and some good news
Bad news first: Last week, an impatient taxi driver decided to make his left turn right into my car. He caused damage to the drivers side front corner of the car, the left front wheel and axel, the entire front bumper cover, and part of the hood. Still, it didnt look to bad, considering he as driving a Crown Vic!
To make a long story short, Geico declared it a total loss. So, the great car that you see still in my avatar is no more She served me well for 1 1/2 years. She was a 2002 X-Type 2.5, with the charcoal interior. Clean as a whistle. A moment of silence please
The good news? This week I got myself 2005 X-Type, 3.0, british racing green with tan interior. Pristine. Heated seats (yes!), driver's seat settings memory (havent checked passenger seat yet, lol), extra cup holder (the wife is happy), and blue tooth Also, unlike the other car, the fobs work (a huge deal for me!).

Dennis, No leaper available, or any other parts actually. Geico took ownership of the wreck and sold it.
Kim, I drove manuals for many years. I cant be bothered any more )
Everyone else, thanks. I love the x-type styling and features. I couldnt bring myself to buying an accord/camry/altima. A good condition used x-type just feels so much better to me, and has better options and comfort. The 3.0 is no slouch either.
I took it to my mechanic today, he was impressed with its handling, and also its condition. On the lift he could see that a new transfer case was installed (yes!), and no leaks were detected. It has another 5k miles or 10 months on the dealer warranty too. If Jagtech is around, I wouldnt mind him looking into the service record for me.
