battery disconnects
I had someone suggest I disconnect the battery in my 2002 X type to see if the system would reset itself and my heat would start to work again. He said his did this and it solved his problem. My question, does this make sense, and would I have to have codes for the radio? I had an American made car and when I replaced the battery I had a difficult time finding codes for the radio.
thank you for your response.

Tadams, the US cars do not require the codes. That feature has been turned off. Worst case, you simply run by your local jaguar dealership, show them proof of ownership and they can look up the code for you.
As for whether this makes sense, it does in a twisted way. The A/C system is a mini computer. When it gets confused, it can do funny things. By turning off the power and starting over, sometimes it will fix it. How many times have you done that with your PC?

Thanks, and your correct about the pc. I have a new thermostat to install when I get a day off, monday, but at 23 degrees and freezing rain, it is almost unbearable to drive. I only get cold air if I turn the fan up at all. If I don't turn the fan on I do get a little better than cold but no where near warm. thanks again
