Battery Issues
Hey Guys,
I have been trouble getting my 2003 Jaguar X-type to start regularly. Sometimes it will start after being jumpstarted for the day and running for an extended period of time but when it sits overnight it does not want to start in the morning. When I turn the key it clicks but does not start. The battery is old and it starts immediately when the jumper cables are connected and I crank it to start. Is this just a battery issue that needs a battery replaced? Or does it sound like there could be more to it?

I've moved your post from the General tech section to the X-Type section where members/techs more familiar with this model can advise.
Just from what you post, I would seriously consider a new battery - take to any Advance Auto type place and they can run a check on the battery and charging system for you, but if the battery is more that 3-4 years old, I would consider it suspect.
Just a side note - these cars DO NOT like to be jumped!

First take either the battery or the car to an auto parts dealer where they can check the battery. Once determined if it is the battery being bad change it and look for a battery drain by removing the neg. cable and putting a test light between the neg. cable and the neg. battery post. If you have a drain you need to proceed from there, if not check the output of the alternator or the belt itself.
