Default BCM codes, No crank No start.

I'm getting a few b codes for security failure. My question, is that if I have to replace the BCM.
Can a new one be reprogrammed outside of a jaguar dealership by a qualified mechanic? I was looking on the forum to see if this has already been answered and didn't see anything. I apologise in advance if this has come up before.

I see a few people have stopped by but didn't have a recommendation. I am going to try to start you on a path of resolution. I had to look back on your other post to see you had a 2004 x-type. I hope that is what we are working on.
Now I need more information.
1. What are the B code numbers you are getting and how are you getting them?
2. Has the car ever turned over and started?
3. If it did what repairs have been done since it started?
4. Has it ever turned over or started with the keys you have?
5. The PATS security system which is controlled by the key and ignition switch communicating will not allow the starter to turn over nor the ECM to provide fuel.

Now to your question if there is a BCM on the x-type I have no idea where it is. Most functions including the security are handled thru the GEM general electronic module. Any independent mechanic that has the necessary jaguar dealer level software can program modules.

It ran earlier in the day, when I got in some hours later it would not start.
Recent repair is the tps connector and ignition coils. Rechecked wiring already.
I don't have a list of codes currently but can get them.
One that stood out that the mechanic listed to me was "ignition transponder failure"
I said BCM out of ignorance, not used to jaguars yet. though I'm slowly becoming more versed.

The "ignition transponder failure" would indicate that the key is no longer recognized. Do you have more than one key and have you tried it for starting the car? You should first try to have the key reprogrammed to the car. If you only have one key you might want to seek a locksmith that cut and program a new key and have both reprogrammed to the security system.

Before going that route and expense of reprogramming keys, post the code(s) you are getting and verify they are current and not a bunch of old stored codes. At this point can you even say with absolute certainty the issue is a security failure? Seems odd if the car was running and nothing out of the ordinary happened to it to have a security issue. Could even be something as simple as you just need a new battery. The car is very finicky about seeing the correct voltage. Not unusual for the battery to take a dump out of the blue with no prior warning symptoms.

You can look them up in the workshop manual etc (free download) and see the causes etc.

A very common cause for many cars would be a failing battery.

Looks like a lot of them are related to the climate control and one to the auto-leveling headlights, with a couple saying a possible cuase is the low battery voltage. The rest seem to be security related. Are you getting a pattern of the security light near the shifter blinking? If so, that would be a sign that something is amiss there. If you don't have that blinking pattern in the security light, get the battery load tested or if the battery is a number of years old, maybe just buy a new one. Looking like with the little to go on here, the battery seems like it is becomimg a more logical place to start.

Just to verify: are all those codes you list are pending now, or could they be stored from a long time ago? If they could be old, make sure alll of them get erased and then see what comes back so you know what is happening now. If they are all new, are you having any issues with your climate control or your auto leveling headlights?
