PM me your email address. I will send you a file. You need to burn it to DVD-R loose then start car, remove map dvd and insert the one you burned. Screen should say updating. If it doesnt, just let it run for 1o minutes, then cycle ignition. I hope it works. If not you likely need DVD reader.

The cost of pressing the wrong button deliberately may be high. You can try a newer nav DVD but if that doesn't work will need to replace the nav module (it's in the nav drive).

This thread is getting more and more confusing, with folklore replacing fact and fact being ignored.
Firstly all the mis operations of pressing buttons and switching off the power CANNOT AND WILL NOT DAMAGE ANY OF THE HARDWARE. THE FAULT IS A SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING FAULT.
I have typed the same explanation until my fingers bled in trying to help whilst others offer the most outrageous remedies.
Mapping discs also contain the protocols for operating the screen and all the switchware associated with it, SO PLEASE GET YOURSELF A NEW MAPPING DISC AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS I HAVE POSTED ONTO THIS THREAD NUMEROUS TIMES.

To reload the operating systems.
turn on the ignition and remove the old disc from the satnav player turn off the ignition.
Start the engine ( the engine is kept running only to keep the battery charged) and insert the new disc DO NOT switch off the engine until the the leaping jaguar appears on the screen, normally 5 to 10 mins at this point all of the services will have been updated and the control of the heating, audio etc will have been re-established.
The last thing to load is the mapping info, make sure you select the right area of Europe as the default can be Poland and not England once you have selected England you are ready to go.
Best wishes Greytop

Hi everyone, I have uploaded the LOADING.KWI file onto the forums on my other post.
This file burnt onto a REGULAR DVD-R fixed my 50 51 error and brought my entire unit back to life.
Here is the link to the other post https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...072_1-a-51699/
Hope it helps, I know I almost pulled all my hair out trying to find an inexpensive solution.
Andy
