Borla
Good day,
I am thinking of changing my pipe system out but do not want to loose any of the growl i get with stock. As with my Harley when i went to a V&H pro pipe with racing baffle i want lighter weight and more but not crazy loud rumble (dont want to be a heat score). If i put a K&N air filter and the Borla pipes will i need a download / ECM flash. I have heard that the ECM/ECU is a self learning system true or false ? Has anyone dyno the results to see if the claimed 7% power increase is true (website number) any help would be great.
03 with a 3 ltr
Thanks

I've got magnaflow mufflers which are basically the same design as borla. Borla just costs a little more. Its the same straight through design packed with resin. I can tell you it sounds great! I really love the sound of it. Its deep at about 2k RPM and gets somewhat raspy at 6k. I also have a 3.0 liter engine. Truthfully I can't really say I felt and horsepower gains. With that said, you shouldn't have to reflash your ECU.
By the way if you want the magnaflow mufflers, it is part number 11226.
They weld right on and then all you will need is some exhaust tips.
Overall its a cheaper job than Borla.

Kevin, want to try these out from Adamesh and let us know? I asked them to get a sound clip out there but they still haven't done it.

Even with shipping from the Uk the price still comes in under what Mina is doing. Sorry Chris!

Standard shipping is free in the US, have to belive it will be less than $100 to Canada,
Summit Racing is a great company and I have bought a lot from them over the years.

I'm running the Borla system and it sounds great. The growl at low RPM is amazing and the overall sound is a thousand times better than stock. The cabin noise is just slightly louder basically you can tell the car is running. With the stock exhaust you can barely tell the car is on. The only thing I will tell you is that this is NOT a true cat back system as advertised. This is just the rear section (rear boxes only). Still an incredible upgrade.
