Brake install... vibration.

Well here we go... I installed the front rotors and EBC Greenstuff pads I purchased from ebay. Note I did not bleed the brakes this time. Install was pretty routine. Removed the old rotors, sprayed the calipers with brake cleaner, used the caliper tool, pushed the pots back in, installed new pads, rims, lugs. So I lower the car off the jacks, then tighten the lugs again. I am not sure how long it takes to brake these things in, but I have got over 200 miles on them and the car virbates at high speeds. Not a lot, but definately enough to notice that it wasn't there with the stockers. Also, moderate braking gives some vibration as well as some deep whining. Like loud sandpaper rubbing against metal. Anyone have any suggestions? I am doing to install the rears tomorrow and want to try and solve this problem so I don't have to go purchase all the stock parts and waste more money. Thanks.

Hmmm....this is one of my fears when I do my rotors and pads. Bought front rotors ..Drilled and slotted from a Canadian company...real cheap...like 200 for the front and rear..Too good to be true...
Anyway, when you installed your front pads, they require a break-in process...you are supposed to drive about 30mph than hit the brakes hard, drive 20 minutes, do 30 again and hit the brakes hard....I think you do this 3 or four times to "set" the brakes.
As for the vibration at high speeds, one of two things come to mind. Either the rotors were not balanced correctly or your tire may have lost one of its weights...
Try rotating your front tires to the rear. If the vibration goes to the rear you solved your problem, if you still feel it in the front, looks like the rotors need to be balanced...

if the problem was not there before try to figure out what went wrong. I would check that the front hubs are spotlessly clean under the discs first of all.
I guess the new discs could be bad.. but my experience is that is quite rare..
Racerx... I got the cheap rotors from here ( london ON ) - met the guy in a parking lot and saved the shipping. he is a nice guy, left me feeling like i got a good deal. I am now waiting for the Red stuff pads to come, then will do the brakes over christmas. I have the new discs all primes and painted around the hubs and edges of the discs. ( black )
Still need to figure out suspension issues. may be in for a big job over the holidays if I have to do struts

Hey Mr bojangles..
Let me know how your rotors work out. I'm thinking of listing mine on e-bay and cut my losses..lol but i guess i can wait to see how yours work out.
In the mean time, I guess dogg there will need to retrace his steps and see if everthing is in order...

well I'm an idiot and did not read the back of the EBC box. it says allow 500 miles for the sound to go away. here is my next question. it said that I should keep all grease away from the pads. well I can remember me getting the black **** from my hands onto the front of those pads. Nothing too bad but a few fingerprints. Do I need to uninstall, clean, and then reinstall or will I be ok? As far as the vibration, I don't know the culprit, but I am thinking I might disassemble and redo anyway.
