Brakes Overheating
I have just got both rear brakes assy replaced, onmy 2001 X-Type,due to overheating and sieged in braking condition.I felt that the car is still running a bit sluggish after the brakes have been replaced. The avg fuel consumption is 1.1 litre per 100km higher than usual.
I suspect that it has been more than just bad luck for both brakes to overheat and failed. Could there be a single fault in either the brake system or other systems (such as cruise control) that have jammed the brakes and caused them the overheat and failed?
I would appreciate suggestions on what I should tell my garage to check next. Should I bring the car to the agent for a full computer diagnostic of the cruise control system, etc?
Regards,
Hong
