If that's so you can consider yourself lucky not to have this adjustment - it's a problem less to repair.

Default Thanks

My project has to go on hold for 3 weeks as I am going back in the USA
and the car is in England/

I will keep you and the forum posted when I start the project.
but I do have a couple of more questions,
when removing the front bumper, is it vital that the front wheels are removed?
I am hoping to let it hang there any tips
do the washer covers just click off?
do you have to disconnect the spotlights

Trouble is when you talk through a job, you get all the apprehensions, just wish I could grab the tools and get on with it.
Thanks for all the help to date, I might make a utube video, probably up to Emmy standard or even get an Oscar!

So I've spoken to my lovely Jaguar mechanics and they still believe that the issue would be to do with those darn clips. But anyway just to confirm follow post #12 above which will give you absolute certainty whether or not the issue is with those clips or not.

Let me know how it goes!!

Howdy,
No its not essential to remove the front wheels.... but it just make life a little easier - when undoing the screws around the ends of Front Bumper Cover and front wheel arch panel.

Suggest you read this thread and grab the PDF I posted in there (#12)

Good luck

In my case the adjusting motor seems to be the problem, not the clips. Does anyone here have any idea if this is the part I need? JAGUAR X-TYPE HEADLIGHT HEADLAMP STEPPER ADJUSTMENT MOTOR | eBay

Here is an update on my problem. The adjustment engines on these lamps are actually replaceable, even at an official Jaguar garage. In another words – you don’t have to replace the whole lamp in any case. However, in my case it wasn’t the actual engine causing problems, but the signal cable. As I mentioned earlier I had already been testing the power- and ground cable. But there is also a third signal cable in addition to the other two which I didn’t knew existed. It appeared to have fallen off - probably during some previous change of bulb. With the signal cable back in place the adjustment engine works as it should be.
