So I decided to just pull every fuse in the hopes one broke. Found a 5 amp fuse for the instrument cluster that broke. Replaced it and started right up.
We finished the roll cage this weekend, added a much larger transmission cooler, built a new radiator bracket, installed the seat, changed oil and did a little painting. The 5 amp fuse issue came up again and I hope to get that sorted out this week. Only 3 weeks until race weekend!
I still have the wood trim that goes around the gauges too. I'm not sure how I will reinstall it without an actual dash. May just end up using Gorilla Tape on the back side so it looks okay from the front and is still solid. The goal is to keep some of the Jag luxury look in there. Yea, it adds some weight but who cares in endurance racing. I have 14.5 hours to catch them.
LOL! You have touched on our bribe. So Lemons is often theme based, and since we run a Firbird and a Jag we are going with the American Redneck v. British Royalty theme. The bribe gives you a race specific sprayed logo on the car and sometimes a little help with classing and penalty laps. Half the guys will wear mullets and overalls with a bribe of Jack Daniels The other half will wear khakis, button up shirts, and BK crowns with a bribe of Earl Grey tea and some biscuits. I know there are a lot of folks from across the pond here so I am open to good bribe and theme ideas.
I like it! Glad you added the leaping cat back to the hood. How loud is your engine with race trim? I hope to see a video clip on race day. Best of luck

We still have the stock exhaust so it is extremely quiet right now. This could easily change if we get bored or have a few too many. I have heard mixed things on the value of removing out the cats and exhaust so it is low on the list. The Pontiac has straight pipes, so the sound difference goes with the theme.

I wasn't looking carefully, and reading on my phone, and thought you had three cats on the hood!
Last weekend we changed the oil and trans fluid, this weekend is the differential and transfer case. I wanted to know what your thoughts were about the adapter I am planning on using. It appears that there will not be enough room inside for the open valve to have oil flow through, but I experimented and it does seem like it will work. It is also a little short than some of the others I have seen.

I used a gear lube pump with the same fitting as you are showing.
Worked great
And not much oil comes out if your quick replacing the plug.

I was planning on just leaving this in there to make it easier to do next time. I plan on changing the gear oil between each race, especially if I can make it easy to do. I end up spending over $250 or so on fluids but if it saves the components it's money well spent. Just oil alone was $33 for 2 quarts.
I wanted to thank everyone on here who has posted about differential and transfer case fluids. Used a small 12v pump on both as well as the attachment I posted on the transfer case and they worked great.
The car is ready to go at this point. I will get some exterior pictures later, but I really like that we managed to maintain much of the wood grain interior.
Our race is this weekend. If you are local to Philadelphia area you should come check out the race. There will be over 125 cars running all day Saturday and Sunday. The race is all fun and while there are a ton of Miatas, E30s, and the like also expect to see things like a helicopter and a boat racing around the track. It is always a blast and some fantastic builds. Plus you can check out our X-Type racer!
Just wanted to wish you and your team(s) good luck this weekend. I greatly admire the work you have put into this and thanks for sharing. Wish I lived closer so I could come watch. If they would ever have this at Road America and you would show up I would definitely come out there for morale support.
Thanks! We passed inspection with flying colors. You can follow us at specialty timing. Just Google it and look for the live timing for the lemons race. The jag is #17 and our firebird is #34. They also put the jag in C class too.
