2004 jaguar x 3.0
my A/C not blowing cold enough or just lukewarm air, while im at the stop light or just idling, but its blowing really cold air while im on the highway.
i bought the ac pro refill kit ,connected it but the pressure jumps to high (Red zone) so i cant get a reading and also the a/c clutch is not kicking in. Tried to fill it up a little so the clutch might kicks in but nothing, didnt want to over do it.
dont know if the freon is really low thats why the clutch is not coming on or the compressor is acting out, and kicks in only at “high speed”.
can i jump the clutch (paperclip) so it engage to check the freon level ?
any idea?
thanks

Besi, odds are, your fan controller is starting to go and your fans are not running at full speed. If you want to check this, the check is easy. Start the car (engine temp does not matter) and then turn the dash fan on maximum speed and dial the temp to the lowest that you can set it. From here, with the engine running, open the hood/bonnet, open it all the way up and then place your hands on the support bar that goes over the radiator and then lean in a little bit. Do you feel a gentle breeze on your face or are you feeling a pretty good blast of air? You should be feeling a pretty good blast of air. If you are getting a nice gentle breeze, then odds are your fan controller is starting to go. This wil be something that you want to get looked at.
