A/C Question

A/C Question
Maybe I am crazy, but it feels like when I have the a/c turned on the air on the passenger side seems much colder then the drivers side. The black vent in the center of the dash i think i feel a noticeable difference between the two sides. This doesn't make a whole lot of sense if the center vent is fed from the same area but just split. Is this even possible or am I just crazy?

Believe me, your not crazy. I have the exact same issue. The dealership says its a bad air distribution box and they want $2860 to fix. I found a temporary fix on this site. Basically, the distribution box controls a little door that allows in or keeps out the outside air (It's easier to cool the air inside the car). That door is located behind the pollen filter under the panel beneath the passenger side wiper blade. I simply went in and using a metal clothes hanger closed the door shut. Now I'm getting cold air out of all my vents. We have had temps near triple digits and I haven't driven my car in a week up until about 2 days ago when I tried this. I don't know why the 2 center vents don't get the same air, but they don't. I hope this helps.

I have had a culmination of problems with my '02 and still having this issue. It was really bad but then realized my recirc door was not functioning correctly. I have since corrected that and have confirmed the recirc door is working properly now however, I do still feel the far left and left center vent a) has about a 10% reduction in air flow and b) is a few degrees warmer than the right side.
