Can anybody tell me what this is and why I can't find where it should connect at?

That was a battery tender that was used when the car shipped from the factory when it was new. It isn't used for anything now. I believe there is a dummy plug for it by the battery.

Yep - it was used for PDI purposes. Jaguar used to use battery transit relays installed to only allow certain items in the vehicle to turn on, to prevent battery drain while in transit to dealership.


On back of battery box there is a place that connector into


Picture is example - this one is from a F-Type, but would have looked similar.

Make sure it can't cause a short.

+1 to Transit Relay and also ensuring the lead it can't short.

Can anybody tell me what this is-transit-relay.jpg

During PDI dealer preparation for sale, the Transit Relay is removed and the instruction is to conceal the lead behind the trim.

This never stops many inquisitive members from finding it and asking this same question.
