I'm in Austin; have a 2004 X-Type, 3.0L coming up on 66,000 miles.
Need a good mechanic here for what I think is CV problem (grinding noise on u-turns or tight turns) and also a rough idle.
The only remaining dealer here did a very poor job mechnically on my transmission; I had to have it moved to another shop to get that fixed - unfortunately they are only transmission specialists.

Well, I lived in Austin for 9 years and took all 4 of my Jags to Maund Jaguar on Mopac. I always found them to be very reasonable. I went to Olde English once, the place was a mess and I even though I had spoken to the owner the day before, he forgot that I was coming. I got a quote from Motorcars Ltd (on 183) for some work - They were more expensive than Maund Jaguar.

I have no relation to Maund and don't live in Austin any more and of course YMMV....
