Default Can't Catch a Brake.....

Searched this forum but couldn't find a similar problem (or solution). I'll try to keep this brief:
  • Initial Problem - When brakes applied during a slow-speed, gradual stop, the pedal would sink down just as the car was almost stopped and the ABS system would engage. No problem when brakes were applied quickly. Decided to upgrade the brake system with new rotors and pads, problem persisted.
  • Bench bled and installed new master cylinder; same problem with ABS engaging, only now brakes lock up after 3 or 4 stops.
  • Adjusted brake push rod (shorter); same problem, and there is slack before the master cylinder is engaged.by the pedal
  • Pressure bled the entire system. ABS still engages when making a gradual stop and brakes still lock up after 3-4 applications, loosen up again sitting overnight. .
I'm wondering if the problem has been the ABS module all along, but rather than continue to throw parts at it I'm hoping someone worked their way through the same problem and can provide me with a solution.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mention: No codes from my i930 scanner, no leaks in the system (pressurized at 15psi),had also bled the ABS unit, .

You can try disconnecting the ABS module to see how the brakes function. This will put the car in 'limp home' mode so you should do it somewhere safe.

Good suggestion; those units are known to be problematic, but I've not heard (or been told of) that specific symptom.

Worth a shot. Who knows with those modules. I had mine rebuilt after it started failing. Drove to and from work for a whole week without it!
