Have been reading forums and preparing the last and final fluid change (oil done, = synthetic, transfer case and differential done, = royal purple).
Learning from many posts the correct fluid other than Jaguar Dealer liquid gold, has been Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle Transmission Fluid.
Here comes my question and need knowledgeable guidance: There are 2 of these available in my area.
1. Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle Transmission Fluid.
2. Castrol Transmax Import Multi-Vehicle Transmission Fluid.
I certainly do not wish to purchase the wrong one. Any one have insight?
Patience has never been my virtue. Phoned Castrol direct, they rebranded and slightly upgraded the former "Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle Transmission Fluid" to "Castrol Transmax Import Multi-Vehicle Transmission Fluid".
The Castrol people, even took down year, make, model and even transmission model and gave me a long verbal technical blurb of meets "blah, blah, bkah, Jatco, blah, blah...." Committed that the latter listed Transmax is correct for Jaguar X's.
This is what I use https://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=51&pcid=9
I've run two races on it and changed it between each one. Seems to work well and I've had no transmission issues. Plus it specifically says for JATCO on it.
