Hi I have 02 xtype and the radio only shows a tape player but have CD player buttons where is the cd changer? I called myself looking in the trunk could I have overlooked it?

 

Tamika.....It is kind of hard to not see the CD changer in the trunk, even though I would bet you have the wiring. I had a car that had a satellite CD changer listed on the radio, but it was just an option I did not have. The manufacturers do that just to make us feel stupid I think. I live just across the border. I am new to X Types( I was just glad they didn't have inboard disc brakes, like my last Jag), but have gobs of experience in building racing engines and transmissions, and Older Porsche Audis and VWs. Hope this answer helps. I do not know if the newer X Type radios with CD players will fit into your car. I bet it is not so fun using cassette tapes. Maybe someone else here has an answer about radio fitment......Be cool.....Mike

 

My 03 has both cd (*in trunk, on right side..there is a trap door housing with the nav disk, and the cd. The dash has a cassette slot. I would guess that the cd, and the rest are part of the nav sysstem
