cd changer

Yes, I think it will. I have a CD changer hooked to the standard Jag radio in my 2003 S-Type. AFAIK, the CD changer for the 2005 is exactly the same.
You need to ensure you have the optical cables in your trunk, though, and you might need to have the changer reprogrammed for your vehicle.

The changer does not care about configuration, It is the head unit. The Radio head unit needs to know about NAV, CD Changer etc. The optic cables also need to be in the correct order because they are all in series but just a CD changer does not have an ORDER so it is just added on. After installation the Radio Head Unit will need to be configured.

If a CD changer was in the car then a replacement can be installed without reconfiguration. If the changer is ADDED (or any other device NAV, PHONE etc.), then the head unit needs to be configured to accept the addition. It is all about the NETWORK knowing the components that are configured to it.
