Default CD changer part number

I just replaced part# C2C38055E with part# 1X43-18C830-AC and it works fine. They are interchangeable.

My X-Type is a 2005 with factory nav and premium sound.

CC2C38055E worked fine until one day all it would do is report "NO DISCS".

Too late for you now as you've changed it but I had the same thing and it was just a blip with mine. Got a tip from one of the forums to remove all the discs from the magazine and insert the empty magazine and press the cdc button which would rightly display no discs, after that replacing the discs in the magazine worked fine as has done ever since.

That would have been easier! I didn't see that tip.

I did see several suggesting adjusting a particular gear lash. It is no small feat just to get the unit open without destroying it. And then the gear lash looked OK and unadjustable anyway.

I will try your technique next time.
